Virtual Sea Camps fish lab gives students a basic understanding of how to identify fish by looking at specific distinguishing features. They learn about the three different classes of fish with emphasis on bony fish.
Representations of several different species from small intertidal fish to the giant sea bass will enable them to observe a variety of fish. Students will make a hypothesis through observations made during the virtual field portion of the class. As they proceed through the steps of the scientific method using their findings they will develop a theory and conclusion (see full description and curriculum standards).
